There is no denying the fact that an unhealthy lifestyle and toxicity can have major implications on health and in turn increase our chances of contracting various chronic illnesses, however we often ignore one of the most fundamental catalyst in causing similar if not more lethal disruptions. Stress!

Such an overused term in todays day and age and so undervalued (for the lack of a better word). We are in a race, suddenly now the game is all about going big and cashing out, more investment in the shortest amount of time and its the business valuation instead of profitability, is what we strive for. In this race we almost feel that being stressed is imperative to succeed but don’t realise that stress can be absolutely detrimental to our health.

Stress releases cortisol in the brain, this hormone released in excessive amounts leads to inflammation in the body and if inflammation becomes chronic, than we are in big trouble. CHRONIC INFLAMMATION IS A NO NO.. This is the cycle, a very deadly cycle!

Why are we falling more sick today? Yes, due to medical advancements we are detecting illnesses sooner than before, but stress levels are rising and rising rapidly. This is mostly the root cause for everything. Our bodies are under chronic inflammation all the time and we are not recognising how dangerous this can be for us. Apart from troubled skin, unhealthy weight gain or loss, disturbed sleep, hormone imbalances and mood swings, stress can take us right to the major ones that we fear the most. The chronic disease that can be life threatening such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes to name a few.


The irony of the situation is that managing stress is very simple. There are so many things you can do for not very long that can have major positive implications on our stress levels. From sleeping, to running, meditating, listening to music, driving (maybe not in India), cooking, writing or just being in nature. Anything that puts you at ease is a stress buster and incorporating this in your day for just 5 to 10 minutes is incredibly important and can potentially save your life!
